Last summer, 2013, Colorado was impacted by what “those who know” have called a 500-year flood. For sure, no one I know who has lived here for any length of time has ever seen anything like the rains that nearly drowned our state and wreaked such havoc from the front-range Rockies to the eastern plains.
Still, amidst all the pictures of devastation and destruction, there was some beauty to be found.
I took this picture of the rain when it was coming down quite hard. Everything was so lush and green. And, oh, the glorious smell of rain. How I wish this picture could have captured that!
